A stunning royal family photograph, supposedly taken by the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, has come under intense scrutiny after revelations that it was digitally altered before release.
The image, capturing the late Queen Elizabeth II surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren inside Balmoral Castle, was intended to honor the queen on what would have been her 97th birthday.
Getty Images, the photo agency that examined the snapshot, issued a warning about the image, stating that it had been « digitally enhanced at source. » This revelation comes in the wake of Middleton’s recent admission to editing a Mother’s Day family portrait, sparking a wave of speculation and controversy.
The details are obvious to the trained eye
Among the discrepancies noted in the photograph is the misalignment of the plaid pattern on the queen’s skirt, suggesting that it may have been cut and repositioned. Similar irregularities can be seen on the green couch the queen is seated on, casting doubt on the authenticity of the image.
According to Getty, there are at least four more irregularities in the photograph, including black patches, misalignments, and lightning inconsistencies.
This revelation follows a « kill » alert issued for a photo shared by Middleton of herself and her three children, which was found to have been manipulated. The Princess later apologized for any confusion caused by the edited photograph, attributing it to her experimentation with editing as an amateur photographer.
Two notable but normal absences
Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, the children of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, were notably absent from the Balmoral Castle photo, as they reside in California and were not present during the summer visit captured in the image.
The controversy surrounding the royal family’s photographs has only deepened, with concerns raised about the authenticity of images released by the palace. Despite the mounting scrutiny, Kensington Palace has declined to comment on the latest revelations, leaving royal watchers wondering about the extent of the photo scandal and its implications.
