Sergio ‘Checo’ Perez is entering his fourth season with Red Bull, and he anticipates a more competitive field as it is the third season under the new regulations.
At 34 years old, he is eager to vie for his first world title. Perez is determined to make this his best season with Red Bull, and he has expressed this sentiment on multiple occasions.
The Mexican’s contract with Red Bull expires this year, but he does not believe it will be his last in Formula 1.
« My main focus is on the start of the season. The first five races are crucial as they set the tone for the entire year, » Checo told Veloic.
« Last year, I had a strong start with wins in both long and short races. I hope to replicate that success and maintain consistency throughout the season.

Perez doesn’t believe he is finished in F1
Whilst there has been constant speculation over his future with Red Bull, the Mexican is convinced that he isn’t close to finished in Formula 1.
« This season is the longest in F1 history, so I have prepared extensively. I am motivated and not concerned about the duration. The start of the season is an exciting time, and I am eager to perform well, » Perez said.
« I believe I am in excellent shape to start this season, » he said.
In his three years with Red Bull, Perez has secured at least one win each season, totaling six wins in his F1 career. He is optimistic about the RB20, the team’s new car.
« I believe it is a step forward, but we will have to wait and see where we stand in relation to our competitors after the first tests and races. The competition is getting closer, and we will definitely see more competition, » he added.
Finally, Perez is thrilled about the arrival of F1 in Madrid, where he resides for much of the year.
« I am excited because I spend a lot of time in Madrid. I believe it will be one of the best events on the calendar. Madrid is a unique city, and I am looking forward to a great race. The circuit looks promising, » Perez concluded.
